Introducing the live opera and ballet performances of the London Covent Garden, season 2023\/24: the Aria Hotel Budapest and Caf\u00e9 Liszt are presenting seven new shows during weekends in the Teatro Aria chamber cinema room. Enjoy live performances with HD picture, and 7.1 surround sound quality.<\/p>\n

There is no Christmas without The Nutcracker. <\/strong>The genuine visuals by Julia Trevelyan Oman lend a festive feel to Peter Wright’s beloved Royal Ballet production<\/strong>, based on Lev Ivanov’s original choreography. Fairytale magic is combined with a spectacular dance production in this unforgettable classical ballet<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Puccini\u2019s devastating tragedy, Madama Butterfly<\/b> about a young geisha who falls in love with an American naval officer. When the young geisha, Cio-Cio-San, marries American Naval Officer Pinkerton, she believes she is entering a real, binding marriage for life. Forsaking her religion and community, she learns all too late that for Pinkerton, their marriage is merely an illusion \u2013 with tragic consequences.<\/p>\n

With a score that includes Butterfly\u2019s aria, ‘Un bel d\u00ec, vedremo’ (\u2018One fine day\u2019) and the Humming Chorus, Giacomo Puccini\u2019s opera is entrancing and ultimately heart-breaking.<\/p>\n

Tchaikovsky\u2019s<\/strong> sensational score Swan Lake<\/strong> combines with the evocative imagination of choreographer Liam Scarlett and designer John Macfarlane<\/strong> to heighten the dramatic pathos of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov\u2019s quintessential ballet classic<\/strong>. Swan Lake remains to this day one of the best-loved works in the classical ballet canon. Starring the shining pricipals of the Royal Ballet, Yasmine Naghdi and Matthew Ball<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

At a glittering party in 18th-century Paris, the poet Andrea Ch\u00e9nier<\/strong> delivers an impassioned denunciation of Louis XVI. Five years later, the Revolution has given way to the Terror, transforming the power balance between Ch\u00e9nier, his beloved Maddalena, and G\u00e9rard, the man who could destroy him… <\/span>Jonas <\/span><\/strong>Kaufmann headlines David McVicar\u2019s spectacular staging<\/strong>, under the baton of long-time collaborator Antonio Pappano<\/strong> \u2013 who conducts Giordano\u2019s epic historical drama<\/strong> of revolution and forbidden love in his last production as Music Director of The Royal Opera. Andrea Ch\u00e9nier returns to the Royal Opera House Main Stage in June.<\/span><\/p>\n
