The enchanting ballet of Cinderella by The Royal Ballet’s Founding Choreographer Frederick Ashton is a theatrical experience for all the family. In 1939, Frederick Ashton first began to consider creating a full-length work, the Company’s first three-act ballet. Inspired by other balletic adaptations of Cinderella coming out of Russia, Ashton chose to create his own version of Charles Perrault’s famous rags-to-riches story. Set to Sergei Prokofiev’s exquisite score, the ballet received its premiere in 1948. The production is featuring Fumi Kaneko and William Bracewell now in the lead roles.
Screening time appr 180 minutes (with two intermissions).
There is no Christmas without The Nutcracker. Fairytale magic is combined with a spectacular dance production in this unforgettable classical ballet.
Screening time appr 150 minutes (with one intermission).
Tumble down the rabbit hole in this ballet adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s famous family story. The Marriage of Figaro, Mozart’s evergreen comedy, is surprising and entertaining no matter how many times we see it! David McVicar stages a truly international cast, the Hungarian aspect of which is baritone Péter Kálmán, who will debut in London this autumn, and can be seen in the role of Bartolo on the Covent Garden stage.
In Italian, with English surtitles. Screening time 3 hours 15 minutes, with 1 intermission.
